Determine Code Type

There are two types of QR Codes, Static and Dynamic.

Static QR codes are best for simple, one-time uses like sharing contact details or a fixed website link, while dynamic QR codes are ideal for marketing campaigns where you might need to change the landing page or offer over time.

Most of the codes can be Static codes and can be setup using the instructions below, if you determine you need a Dynamic code you can work with Tech to create the code by emailing them at [email protected].

Some thinks to think through when trying to decide if the code should be Static or Dynamic.

Do you really need the analytics tracking?

Do you need to be able to change the link after the code is created?

Note: Static codes cannot be changed once created but Tech can create Redirects for that page/URL if needed later on.

For example, the URL vianations.org/edm could be set to direct to the most current EDM page so it could be a Static code as we can change it on our end instead of needing to change it in a QR Code program.

Create Static Code

  • Enter the URL that you would like the QR Code to direct to in the Your URL field

  • Leave Statistics and Editability Off

  • If you would like you can add any of the following options

    • Colors

    • Logo Image

    • Custom Design

  • Click Create Download once you are done editing

  • Download the QR Code to use where needed

    • Note: When downloading the code, you should generally choose to save it to a Shared Drive in Google Drive so it can be re-used and/or shared as needed

    • If it is a personal QR Code then you can save it either to your My Drive or on your computer

Create Dynamic Code

Email [email protected] with the information about the code and why it needs to be Dynamic along with when you need it by and they will help get it setup for you.
